There is a new KNIME video on YouTube showing how you can build a basic model for churn prediction. The video shows how to create a model and train it to predict churn. The model is then evaluated on a test set and finally applied in a deployment workflow to work on real live data. Even with the all talking and explanation provided in the video, this whole process actually takes less than half an hour!
This video is just a starting point. You can, of course, improve, adapt, and optimize the model according to your data and company needs.

Zurich, March 12, 2015 – In recognition of its ability to execute and completeness of vision, KNIME, the leading open platform for data-driven innovation, has again been placed among the Leaders in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Advanced Analytic Platforms (see kdnuggets for a nice visualization of the changes from last year). Gartner, Inc. describes Leaders as “vendors with a strong and proven track record in the market that are also likely to influence the market's broader growth and direction. Leaders are suitable vendors for most organizations to evaluate.”
“This is the second year in a row that KNIME has made it to the leadership quadrant,” says Michael Berthold, President at KNIME.com AG. “This confirms that our vision, coupled with the consistent delivery of new open source and commercial extensions, keeps the open source KNIME Analytics Platform on the cutting edge of advanced analytics.”
Now the platform of choice for tens of thousands of data scientists, KNIME owes the recent accolades to users from thousands of organizations operating its open source platform and commercial extensions. “KNIME is proving its potential through strong growth, new A-list customers and additions to its open platform approach,” says Phil Winters, independent consultant and member of the KNIME Board. “The market continues to undergo a shakeup. There’s no doubt that KNIME’s steadfast open platform philosophy is disrupting the advanced analytics space.”
“In the end, the KNIME success story is about its community and about individuals who download and quickly start using KNIME as an open platform for innovation. These professionals are the ones driving KNIME’s recognition, our success, as well as the changes in the market.” continues Berthold. “We’re investing heavily in our development to provide these users with what they need to not only get up to speed fast but to share and make what they do of relevance for other users within their organization. In the end, what really counts are not the awards, the checklists, or the RFPs that we win, but the hearts and minds of our users. We are profoundly committed to open source – it’s a strong, honest and transparent business model that works for everyone.”
