KNIME: Update Site

Download KNIME Features using the KNIME Update Site

A convenient way to download the KNIME plug-ins is via the KNIME update site http://www.knime.org/update.

In KNIME select "File" -> "KNIME Update...", which opens the KNIME update site window directly, in the KNIME Developer Version and existing Eclipse installations select "Help", "Software Updates", "Find and Install...". The Update Wizard opens. Select "Search for new features to install" and click "Next". On the left-hand side of the window, you can see the KNIME site included in the list of "Sites to include in the search". If this is not the case you have to include it by clicking the "New Remote Site" button and enter the above mentioned URL. The KNIME update site should be checked. If this is not the case, check it and click "Finish". The KNIME update site window appears displaying the root of the KNIME update. If you expand it you see two main categories: KNIME Extensions and KNIME Development (which shouldn't be of any interest unless you are using the developer version and also want to inspect the KNIME source code). You may now select the features you want to install. On selecting them, you are provided with a short description. If you select a feature and receive an error message stating that the selected feature requires a certain plug-in, subsequently click the "Select Required" button. This automatically selects all required features. (Note, that KNIME requires GEF 3.2; this may be not installed in case you use your existing Eclipse installation and you have to install it in advance). Clicking "Next" will lead you to the license agreement. If you agree, click "Finish" to download and install the selected features.
