The revolving doors to dbb forum in Berlin have finally stopped, bringing our 8th KNIME UGM to a successful close! It was a great event and we would like to extend our thanks to all the speakers for their enlightening talks and to all attendees for their enthusiasm and interest.
The event opened with an introduction by Michael Berthold on what’s going on at KNIME behind the scenes and talks from the KNIME developers on the latest big data extension, a Python and JSON integration and image processing extension to add to the already long list of processing tools. Talks ranged from retail analytics to tweets drill-down for user experience in online dating; from fighting malaria with KNIME metanodes to crawling the web for health risk assessment; from replacing bunnies or rather “rodents” for cosmetic tests with KNIME workflows to upselling in the videogame industry; from fighting cybercrime to CRM analytics; and more!
On the evening of the first day, everyone headed to Berlin’s TV-Tower for a very magical dinner in the tower’s rotating Sphere Restaurant. A perfectly clear and starry night gave us all wonderful views of Berlin’s landmarks from a height of 207 meters.
Below you will find links to the presentation slides and pictures of the event.
We are now turning our sights to an even bigger and more diversified UGM in spring 2016 in Berlin and in fall 2016 in San Francisco!
